Ever wanted to start over?
Maybe that relationship that went sour because of something studip you have done. Or a rewrite on that exam you just flunked and wanted to study more. Or maybe your career, wanting to study something else you chose and not your parents. Maybe immigrate to a different country due to the lack of work and economical situation.
A new start is always exciting I think. It brings hope maybe where there was none. It brings a new adventure and revitalizes your spirit. You throw off the things that hindersor hold you back.
Life always has new beginnings, but what will be the outcome?
What if you can totally reinvent yourself? Would that not be fun? Like the movie “Robin Hood“. Kevin Costner plays a night in shining armor that defends the right of the weak and oppressed and leads them to freedom.
Feel up to it to make a new start for eternity.
Verse for Today:
1 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. – Rom 6:1-4
Well Paul starts of by saying, do we want to make ourselves more misarable by doing what we have been doing.
Oh no not baptism that everybody is having an argument over!!!
Let’s see what happens at baptism as we foreshadow from the previous study.
Baptism is the sharing (a participation) in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. (More than just a symbol.)
To illustrate:
JESUS DIED – WAS BURIED – THEN RESURRECTED
The same we when we get baptized:
OLD LIFE “DIED WITH CHRIST” – We are “BURIED WITH CHRIST” (In His death grave) – And !!! “RAISED TO A NEW LIFE”
DARKNESS LIGHT
– Sin – Separates us from God (Rom 3:23) Sin is Forgiven (Acts 2:38)
– Born Again of Water and Spirit (John 3:5). Water = Baptism & Spirit = Received at Baptism (Acts 2:38)
– Faith in the Blood of Jesus Saves Us (Rom 3:25). Jesus shed His blood when He died. In baptism we share by faith in the
death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. Thus we contact the blood of
baptism and are forgiven of our sins and SAVED!
You believe in Jesus?
Right.
You believe He has a plan of salvation?,
Right.
Well here it is!!!
Did you follow it?
Yes, No?
Well maybe it is time you start believing and follow the Saviour’s plan!
Prayer for Today:
Lord You always had a plan to give me a new life! Help me to follow it! Help me to get rid of my doubts by talking with somebody about it. In the end I need to believe it Lord, by believing You and your plan. Maybe a Nike slogan is in order here Lord, for me to “Just do it“! But with faith. Amen
