4.14 An Eternal Kingdom – Fulfillment of the Old and New Testament Predictions – Part 3 of 12

Eternity!!! Who of us did not want to be part of something greater. Maybe it is a great company you want to work for. Or being part of that country club where you will be respected and treated with honor. How about having that for eternity, quite a motivation!!!

Verse for Today:

Lets first look at the clue / prophesy.

44 “In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever. – Dan 2:44

So God in 700 BC or even before that; had a vision of an eternal kingdom. How about being part of a kingdom that will crush all other. How is that being part of a winning team? We love our sport and like to be on the winning side. Nobudy wants to cheer for the loser. I am thinking of the movie “Meet the Parents – Fockers” where his dad boast about his 6 th place in sports I think. We laugh about it and think it is very silly.

The question is; are we on the winning side or not?

Will we endure forever?

Back to the study. If the kingdom has come as we established in our previous 3 clues being fulfilled. What is this kingdom all about, how can I be part of the winning team?

When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off — for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

Here Peter is preaching. The kingdom that came was the first church that was started on the day of pentecost. Here the first 3000 disciples / church is formed. The church is still with us today.

Prayer for Today:

Wow Lord, an eternal kingdom!!! How exciting!!! To spend eternity with you, what a thought!!! Lord I am excited to be part of your kingdom. You said we can have life to the full with a godly purpose. Help me to find your kingdom here on earth, Your church. I pray to live a life that has a purpose for eternity. Amen
