Doing good and results

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬ – http://bible.com/111/gal.6.9.niv

Do you expect a instant result when you do good ?

Do you easily give up when there is no result ?

Is the reward in the result or is it in the giving ?

I think we have become such a fastfood mentality society, expecting immediate gratification.

The harvest is God’s work, He makes things grow.

Doing good takes perseverance and not giving up.

You will only become weary if you expect immediate results.

It is more about your character than it is about the doing good.

Lets see what the surrounding verses say.

“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6:7-8, 10‬ ‭NIV‬‬ – http://bible.com/111/gal.6.7-8,10.niv

What are you reaping currently ?

What ur reaping currently is proportionately to what ur sowing.

Sowing to please the flesh will reap sin, unhappiness, hate, discord

Sowing to please the Spirit will reap love, goodness, kindness, peace, joy, godlyness

So the conclusion is that we are sowing something in our lives and we as the sower can decide what crop we will be harvesting.

The one is heaven and the other which we dont want to think about (but that’s a reality) is hell.

We need to look for opportunities to do good to all people but but as a first priority the family of believers.

So how will we know how to do good to people ?

We need to be in their lives, know their situation, their needs, their wants, their struggles, their weaknesses, etc.

Know what we can pray for, for people.
