Todays verse
“They forgot what he had done, the wonders he had shown them.
But they continued to sin against him, rebelling in the wilderness against the Most High. They willfully put God to the test by demanding the food they craved.
When the LORD heard them, he was furious; his fire broke out against Jacob, and his wrath rose against Israel, for they did not believe in God or trust in his deliverance. – Psalm 78:11,17-18,21-22

Psalm 76-79
“You are radiant with light, more majestic than mountains rich with game. It is you alone who are to be feared. Who can stand before you when you are angry?” – Psalm 76:4, 7 NIV
“You kept my eyes from closing; I was too troubled to speak. I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. The clouds poured down water, the heavens resounded with thunder; your arrows flashed back and forth. Your thunder was heard in the whirlwind, your lightning lit up the world; the earth trembled and quaked.” – Psalm 77:4, 11, 17-18 NIV
In spite of all this, they kept on sinning; in spite of his wonders, they did not believe. So he ended their days in futility and their years in terror. But then they would flatter him with their mouths, lying to him with their tongues; their hearts were not loyal to him, they were not faithful to his covenant. But they put God to the test and rebelled against the Most High; they did not keep his statutes. Like their ancestors they were disloyal and faithless, as unreliable as a faulty bow. And David shepherded them with integrity of heart; with skillful hands he led them.” – Psalm 78:11, 17-18, 21-22, 32-33, 36-37, 56-57,72 Niv
“Do not hold against us the sins of past generations; may your mercy come quickly to meet us, for we are in desperate need. Help us, God our Savior, for the glory of your name; deliver us and forgive our sins for your name’s sake. Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?” Before our eyes, make known among the nations that you avenge the outpoured blood of your servants.” – Psalm 79:8-10 NIV
Wow scary scriptures!!! A comparison only a hunter will appreciate “more radiant than, mountains full of game”. Is God still God in your life or has He just become another god. Asaph wanted to remember God’s deeds and His miracles. It makes sense because when we are reverent before God we will fear Him and obey His teachings. When we forget we will keep on sinning, rebelling, willfully test God and what cause it the did not believe in God or trust in His deliverance. The question is do I trust God today or try to sort out my life in every way not looking to His deliverance. If keep on not believing we will end our years in terror and futility. Do I flatter God with my tongue? Is my heart still loyal obeying His word? Disloyal, faithless and unreliable goes together. What does it take to lead people; integrity of heart.
Prayer for today
Morning Father I do pray that my trust will be in You and Your deliverance. I think many times my trust is in the situation and how I can handle things and not in You. You keep the universe in place how much more my ant of a life. I pray that I will have integrity of heart and not think I can con you into thinking that I am sincere. You know my life from beginning to end, you created me. I am your pot that you for’ like the scripture says I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Amen
