Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV)
It is amazing that Paul throws these three together.
Joyful always
Praying continually
Give thanks in all circumstance
If I trust God in all circumstances, I will always pray being thankful and joyful that He is in control and wants the best for my life even if it means a tough worldly situation.
So lets throw it the other way around.
Are you unhappy about your circumstances and that is why you don’t pray and cross with God ?
Do you really trust God then ?
Do you believe He is in control ?
Do you pray unceasingly because you are in a tough situation and asking God to help you deal with it ?
Directing a thought toward God qualifies as silent prayer?
It’s true! Prayer is communicating with God, so when the Bible says to “pray without ceasing” it means to always be open to communication with God. That could mean a two-hour prayer session, or it could be something as simple as being aware of His presence as you go throughout your day.
Do you make decisions with God ?
Is He your advisor ?
God has not made prayer complicated. He intends for prayer to be an integral part of our everyday lives. Today, change your definition of prayer, and you can experience the joy that comes from constant communication with the God who loves you. – JM
