Living on the edge

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5, 6 NIV)

Why should we trust in the Lord with all our hearts and not all our thoughts ?

Many a time we say that our thought leads our lives. That is true to an extent but what really drives our lives is the feelings about those thoughts. That will determine if you are going to follow through on your thoughts.

Have you consoled your feelings in regard to what God wants for your live ?

Do you like Jesus wrestle through your feelings to make them obedient to God ?

There is our understanding of things and there is God’s, ours don’t see the big picture but God’s include eternity. We want what is temporarily comfortable and easygoing. God is concerned with our character development and that has to do with struggles and overcoming them with God. Are you ok with that ? Do you want to see the big picture ?

What does it mean to submit to God in all our ways ?

Our purpose, what is yours ? What is God’s purpose for you ?
Our finances, where do you channel your money ? What does God want you to spend your money on ?
Our time, what do you spend your leisure / off time one ? What does God want you to spend your time on ?

Are your paths straight ?

What do you think of a guy that keeps on walking on the edge of a cliff ? You be the judge if it is an good idea.
