Psalm 60-63
“You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.”
Psalm 63:1-4 NIV
Isn’t this a heartfelt psalm and letter to God. How often do we tell God how we feel about him or does He only hear our problems, frustration and plea for goods that we do not have. David truly understands that he needs God and cannot function without him, a true reflection of what a marriage should be like. How often do you tell your wife that you need her and like in a movie “you complete me”. Is God’s love better than life for you, does it show up in your schedule, your meetings, your relationships, your money and your time spent with God? How is your praising of God?
Prayer
Lord truly you are the light of my life, I will praise you everyday singing in the car rather than put on the radio. On my bed at night I remember your. When I share the gospel with people I will long for you you and hope to introduce You to them. Please fill me with your zeal that I may represent you as a true ambassador of Christ. Help me to have a clear conscience by confessing my sin not just to You but people because that brings healing as the scriptures says. I long for you sincerely and look forward every day to spend time with you reading your love letter to me and praying and sharing with people what you mean to me. God help me to depend on your strenth and not to be self reliant because that is just pride in my heart. I love, love, love, love You and the gospel in a word is love. Amen
