Verse for Today:
Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. 2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. – Is 59:1-2
We nowayaday use the word wicked to depict if something is cool, but do we understand the meaning of the word really?
Wicked definition:
Evil or morally wrong. Intended to or capable of harming someone or something. Embodying or associated with the forces of the devil.
Would you like people to characterize you as wicked? Surely not.
Practical:
Sin separates us from God. It is the action or state of moving or being moved apart. Think about going on a hiking trip and getting lost from the group. You feel scared, you are removed from the groups protection. Or when people get devorced what it does to the kids, they are devistated. You cannot have a relationship or talk to them when they are on the other side of a wall. Reminds me of prison.
In order for a man to have a relationship with God the wall must be broken down — sin must be forgiven.
The point in time that sin is forgiven is the point in time a person is saved. At that point God can hear us again.
Prayer for Today:
God you know our weaknesses. Help me to be aware of them and bring them before You. I know that my sin seperates me from you, it is like having a fight with my wife or friend that we cannot see eye to eye. Help me to make discisions not to seperate myself from you anymore. Amen.
