When last was your heart broken?

Mine happened about two years ago when my dad had his 75th birthday party. About a year before that my dad found out by chance, taking an X-ray to see if his stent was installed properly that he had lung cancer that was incurable. I gave a speech about the helping hand my dad was for me through my tears.

Today I miss my dads 20 questions interrogation when visiting them on the island house in Sedgefield. I miss asking his advice about things or just hear again him telling that no. 50th joke.

So our hearts are normally broken when our emotions are moved to the max on despair about things we do not have conctrol over.

A movie that comes to mind is “Gladiator“, which I have wathced about 50 times. It it #RussellCrowe plays the general whose family gets executed by the Romans. He is totally downed by the event. Then he becomes a gladiator and finally free the Empire from it’s tyrannous empor.

What is your reaction to the gospel? Is it that real to you? Will you fight for it?

Let’s have a look at what reaction the gospel had on spiritual people in the Bible.

Verse for Today:

36 “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” – Acts 2:36-37

Have you ever thought that you personally caused the crusifixion death of Jesus?

Is it a non chalant thing that just happened?

Does that notion change your heart to give your life to Jesus and His cause?

If that does not do it for you, then nothing else will move your heart to action.

If it does what is your response?

Are you also cut to the heart?

Do you say: “What shall I do?”

Does your cut heart drive you to action?

Are you willing to lay down your life for Jesus?

That is the effect it should have on your life!!!

Prayer for today:

Lord thinking about the realization that Jesus gave up His life on earth for me to be reconsiled to God the Father truly make me grateful. Lord help me that my deeds will be evidence to that conviction. Help me to make every day my best day yet for you that honors your name and not mine. Amen
