Prayer is an action of humility
Start a prayer journal
- Pray for persons by name.
Pray for anything building up God’s kingdom.
What I am praying for, is it going to advance God’s kingdom.
““Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”” – John 14:1-4 NIV
Where is my focus ?
Heaven or Earth.
Do I pray about stuff on earth or in heaven ?
We become disciples to be with God.
Are we praying for the wrong stuff ?
“The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.” He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”” – Luke 10:17-20 NIV
Jesus’ aim was to get back to heaven.
Repent, get right with God and go to heaven is our message to the world.
Is my prayer life just about trouble?
Pray each other to heaven. God please hurry up that day.
Our motivation should be heaven, what is yours ?
“We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people— the faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel that has come to you. In the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world—just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God’s grace. You learned it from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on our behalf, and who also told us of your love in the Spirit. For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,” – Colossians 1:3-10 NIV
We need to get an understanding of God’s message getting us to heaven.
“being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” – Colossians 1:11-14 NIV
Satan have a ball with those who are religeous but do not put into practise. He don’t mind even that they are going to church.
The reason I confess is, that I am unhealed and get to be near to God.
People who is sick (spiritually) don’t want to get close to God, pray, share their faith.
“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people” – Ephesians 6:18 NIV
Prayer is a spiritual matter.
Connect with God on His will.
Does God responds to Jesus prayer ?
Not the worldly part of it to be saved from being crusified. So even some of Jesus’ prayers did not get answered.
Prayer is our connection with Him untill I get to heaven.
Is your goal to have all the best you want that I can have on the earth ?
Our perspective has to change. It is not about this life.
God has given me just enough do that I will make it to heaven.
Do I inspire people with my life ?
“When Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned. For before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group. The other Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that by their hypocrisy even Barnabas was led astray. When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in front of them all, “You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs? “We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.” – Galatians 2:11-16 NIV
We are indebted to each other.
Who are we afraid of ?
“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” – Romans 8:31-32 NIV
If God gave us Jesus, will he not give us all things ?
“Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” – Romans 8:33-34 NIV
Jesus intercedes for us, who can condemn us ?
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:35-39 NIV
What seperates you from God ?
That might be you idol.
