"Christianity without the living Christ is inevitably Christianity without discipleship, and Christianity without discipleship is always Christianity without Christ." - Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Mat 28:18-20

Authority is a big word. You don’t understand it until you are on the wrong side of it.

Authority – The power to enforce laws, exact obedience, command, determine, or judge.

But all authority is all incompassing. Nothing is out of your reach, you are the ultimate and final say over everything. It means your word is law and you will be judjed by it or set free.

Now for Jesus to make that claim people will say He is either a Liar, a Lunatic or Lord.

So someone who has the ultimate authority’s command is to make All people disciples. So what is a disciple?

Disciple – One who embraces and assists in spreading the teachings of another. Philosophy) a follower of the doctrines of a teacher or a school of thought.

Which is the more popular term — “Disciple” or “Christian?” The word “Christian” only appears three times in the New Testament. It is the name those in the world gave the disciples, seven years after the church began. (Acts 11:19-26). The word “Disciple” occurs over 270 times in the New Testament.

So Jesus want us to become disciples not christians. What I mean by christian nowadays is just someone who goes to church and does not necessarily follow Jesus’ teaching. A disciple is someone who is like the preacher. He shares his faith, visits the sick and make disciples.

SAVED = CHRISTIAN = DISCIPLE

Jesus came to make disciples. Only baptized disciples will be saved.

Let’s have Jesus define disciple, thus defining who is a true Christian.

Where did everything come from?

If the re is a God and He wants to make himself known to people, how does He do it?

What would He say to us?

What is the purpose of our lives?
